Nothing much about this character online, but sometimes their mellow dance stuff gives way to beatless ambience. They live in Wellington, having moved from Manchester, and sound versed in the history of UK electronic music.
DJ Birdbath has released multiple things on Australian ambient-leaning label Theory Therapy, and their latest album, Plunge (2026), is mostly drum-free chords, insectoid sound scapes, and echoing fragments of other things. There’s a laidback, dubby rhythm section on one track out of eight.
Their own Bandcamp page has a selection of previous releases, most of which do have more rhythmic content than I’d normally call ambient. Check it out if you’re into super-deconstructed dubby reworks of other people’s tracks, sparse laidback beats that occasionally go double-time into drum and bass land, and such.
