Music maker and soundtrack composer Rhian Sheehan’s reviews and press tend to use words like “cinematic” and “epic” a lot, with increasing references to chamber music as he incorporates more acoustic instruments. A couple of overseas points of comparison might be Helios or Hammock, the latter having remixed one of Sheehan’s tracks back in 2012.
2020’s Recollections, Vol. 1 is a round up of Sheehan’s contemporary sound, including live selections from A Quiet Divide (2018) performed by a band.
Sheehan took the plunge into this kind of material back in 2009 with his Standing In Silence, moving away from the sound of earlier albums that was more downtempo beats and such.
