Nick Guy’s High Harbour project is the electronic end of what he does: in his own words, eco-industrial volcanic port vibes and windswept instrumentals. The looping, digital textures remind me of stuff on contemporary labels like Motion Ward and West Mineral Ltd – or go back to the murkier end of what Chain Reaction put out, say Vladislav Delay or Fluxion. I don’t really know anyone else in NZ with this flavour.
At the time of writing there are only two High Harbour releases, Portside WAVs (2018) and November 21 (2013).
High Harbour also provided a remix in a similar vein to Montano‘s Subtitled Remixes 2 (2013).
